Delivered with a very sharp cutting edge, it can be resharpened by hand without compromising performance.

How to Care

1. Maintain the factory bevel angle of approximately 25–30° when sharpening.
2. Use a fine-tooth axe file to remove minor damage, filing away from the cutting edge.
3. Finish sharpening with a medium and fine grit puck stone using circular motions.
4. Strop the blade on leather with honing compound for a refined edge if required.
5. After use, dry the axe head thoroughly and apply a light coat of axe wax, boiled linseed oil or 3-in-1 maintenance oil to help prevent corrosion.
6. Treat the hickory handle with axe wax or natural linseed oil to help prevent drying and splitting.
7. Store the axe in a cool, dry location and use a suitable blade sheath to protect the edge during storage and transport.
